Technical Writer 3 / Occupational Health and Safety

Job Description:

Join AZAD as a Technical Writer and provide technical writing support to an Occupational Health and Safety organization within a regional utility environment. This individual will draft, edit, and maintain safety management system documentation, policies, procedures, reports, assessments, and communications in a technical environment.

This is a 2 years plus consultant position with high probability of long term and ongoing continued employment. The position is hybrid with onsite work 1 - 2 days weekly in Vancouver, Washington.  The pay rate range for this position (which includes a health and welfare fringe benefit of $4.57) is $46.92 - $50.00. 

The ideal candidate must possess the minimum qualifications:


An associate or bachelor's degree in journalism, technical writing, safety & occupational health or a closely- elated technical discipline is preferred.
6 years of experience is required with an applicable bachelor's degree.
8 years of experience is required with an applicable associate degree.
10 years of experience and formal training (college level communications, English, technical writing) or related coursework is required. Resume must include a detailed list of the specific classes being claimed as "qualifying".
Experience should be consistent with the specific requirements of technical writing.  
Proficiency in the use of the full Microsoft Office Suite applications for the purposes of creating Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations, Visio diagrams, charts, workflows, diagrams, and various miscellaneous materials into a professional published form is required.

Desired: 

Demonstrated experience with technical writing in a safety and occupational health environment.
